sLiterary is proud to, once again, support Drawing Day on Second Life. On Drawing Day June 6, 2009 (midnight, PDT), artist Ina Centaur will be rallying artists of the virtual world and beyond in a 24-hour Drawing Day Marathon — to help add to the global effort of creating 1 million drawings, to draw in lieu of shout that art matters! sLiterary Art Galleries will be hosting a special Drawing Day Gallery for the next year or so to house all copies of virtual paintings. The year’s second open auditions will be held on Saturday, April 18 @ 11 AM - 11:59 AM SL Time and Saturday, April 25 @ 1 PM SL Time. We are hoping to launch an open-ended run of Twelfth Night: Act 2 (Production Serial: OEP2) in June, with rehearsals starting in May, exact timing TBD. Auditions would be for roles in this upcoming production, and also several possible productions, including a Challenge Production (a non-Shakespearean production) and Twelfth Night: Act 3. Please be sure you have SL voice configured prior to auditioning.

Inachi Presents Avatar Nyotaimori on Second Life

Shakespeare, Second Life and Skin City, Second Life—In the midst of a virtual reconstruction of Shakespeare’s Elizabethan England, an avant-garde virtual sushi restaurant named Inachi unveils its first gourmet dish. Dubbed “Nyotaimori,” the platter features an artistic arrangement of finely-priced sushi adorning the nude avatar body of virtual celebrity Codebastard Redgrave. The sum of sushi prices on this Nyotaimori reaches at about L$1,000,000; its purpose is to be dismantled by its audience as every “edible piece” of this virtual culinary sculpture is sold off in a single fundraiser to benefit the SL Shakespeare Company. The presentation opens to the public at 1 PM PDT on Saturday, March 21^st at the Blackfriars Theatre.

The SL Shakespeare Company is seeking silent actors (actors with non-speaking roles) to perform in its upcoming open-ended production of Twelfth Night: Act 1. The show opens on March 1, and runs every Sundays at 1 PM SLT, and Tuesdays at 6 PM SLT.
